    Job Description

    Job title: Cyber Security Architect

    Location: Various (Hybrid role with travel when required to London, Frimley, Preston)

    Salary: £72,000+ depending on experience

    What you will do:

    • Provides advice, guidance and expertise to promote adoption of methods and tools and adherence to Cyber policies and standards. Evaluates and selects appropriate methods and tools in line with agreed policies and standards
    • Contributes to Cyber Security standards development and facilitates improvements to processes by changing approaches and working practices, typically using recognised models
    • The design and assurance of IT systems to meet Cyber Security requirements, balancing this with functional requirements
    • Verification of systems and processes meet the specified security requirements and that processes to verify on-going compliance are in place
    • Leads on Cyber Security aspects of systems development and integration to function
    • Collects and analyses qualitative and quantitative cyber security data as required. Creates research reports to communicate research methodology, findings and conclusions
    • Continually seeks opportunities for functional level improvement
    • Manages risks associated with their area of specialism within the Cyber Security discipline

    Your skills and experiences:

    Essential:

    • Experience of working in an IT Function with internal and external service providers.
    • Knowledge of Cyber security capabilities, techniques, tactics and procedures.
    • Knowledge of cyber security Infrastructure technologies, their implementation and configuration.
    • Knowledge in IT toolsets, current practices, market offerings and trends and the impact on cyber threats and attack vectors
    • Industry certification (e.g. CISSP, CISM, SABSA, TOGAF)

    Desirable:

    • Experience working within regulated industry, preferably MOD / Government classified information
    • Knowledge of and experience working within Architectural and life cycle frameworks
    • Relevant IT degree or business degree, experience in consultancy or people management position

    The CISO's Team:

    This role sits within the CISO's team at BAE Systems. The team provides the central co-ordination and reporting point for Cyber Security across BAE Systems PLC's global business, with members of the team working across GRC, Training and Awareness, Security Architecture, Threat Intelligence and Incident Response.
