Responsibilities

  • Manage the roll out of Risk Management Framework requirements from Global Risk, through the design of processes to ensure effective, efficient and documented implementation of all aspects, including supporting guidance. This will include development and socialisation of risk management information (MI) that facilitates visibility and oversight of current risk issues, as well as forward looking and trigger-based MI.
  • Oversee the Insurance Control Framework to evidence sufficient review and challenge over the risk and control assessment, remediation, issue management and escalations.
  • Ensure delivery of the requirements for the risk management meetings assigned, including information required to flow from underlying committees/forums, and effectiveness reviews.
  • Contribute to review and challenge of Global Insurance risk map and Global and Entity risk appetite statements (RAS) to ensure quality submissions in line with the RMF, and actively work with the Insurance entities to monitor remediation of shortcomings.
  • Organise and conduct Entity reviews to carry out deep dives into specific areas of concern and to evidence adherence to risk steward and CRO roles under the RMF
  • Build effective relationships with Global Insurance risk stewards, Global Insurance CCO team, WPB and Global Risk teams, and Insurance Entity risk teams to facilitate effective oversight.

    We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of Insurance Risk Manager.

    In the role of Insurance Risk Manager, you will support the Group Insurance Risk Reporting and Governance Lead in managing all deliverables of the team assigned. This team supports the Global Insurance Chief Risk and Compliance Officer (CRCO) in holistic risk oversight on an enterprise basis, by enabling the appropriate governance structures and MI that ensures line of sight of key risks and issues (with onwards escalations as required), and progress on their remediation, to the CRCO. In this team you will work with our diverse Insurance Entities in Asia, Europe and Latin America.

    In this role, you will:

    Requirements

    To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

    • Experience in working in a risk and control role with knowledge of risk frameworks.

    • Demonstrate a high degree of organisational skills and experience in delivering projects.

    • Ability to form effective relationships and achieve influence, through good communication and interpersonal skills, and coordinate and manage stakeholders effectively at all levels.

    • Strong analytical skills.

    • Take personal accountability, be decisive, use common sense and commercial awareness.

    • Broad knowledge of the regulatory environment - Insurance specific regulations would be an advantage.

    The base location for this role is Fareham or Bristol and is Hybrid working.
