  • Supporting Head of PMO/PMA in the deployment of the Project Management policy and framework, with delegation of responsibilities as required
  • Responsible for monitoring and forecast of PM functional costs and the management of the PM functional training budget
  • Leading and motivating a team of Project Managers and Project Professionals, with responsibility for managing their performance, providing appraisals and supporting to their development
  • Responsible for the development and on-going management of specific aspects of Project/Programme/Portfolio capability, including communications, resource management, people capability, talent management, early careers, project control including earned value management and functional process and toolset capability
  • Management and development of the Project Control Systems in the Business ensuring they are fit for purpose and support the needs of the business, providing information that is robust and accurate that can be used internally and with external customers
  • Responsible for Business Project Reporting at all levels, BU, Sector and Group
  • Liaising with other business functions and business units to share good practice in Project Management functional capability development, methodologies and toolsets, including Project Management Maturity Assessments
  • Coordination across the PMO of creation and maintenance of the Business Management System with respect to project management, project management governance, associated project management processes and risk management with appropriate alignment

    Your skills and experiences:

    Essential:

    • Project management knowledge, skills and experience – desirable across project delivery, project control and project functional disciplines
    • Has extensive knowledge and understanding of how a PMO supports the business, and experience in PM people development, toolsets and process
    • Has extensive knowledge and understanding of Strategic Workforce Planning, People Capability, Project Control and Toolsets within a PMO
    • Line Management experience

    Desirable:

    • Professional accreditation APM PMQ (or equivalent)
    • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of both Project and the wider business environment
    • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of project governance and assurance, including Lifecycle Management (LCM), Project Control System and the PM career framework.
    • Team working ethos and behaviours
    • Effective communication and presentational skills

    The Land UK Project Management:

    The PMO Manager is responsible for developing and managing Project Management key capabilities for people, process and toolsets and leading the PMO functional improvement plan. It involves working closely with delivery PM's and other functions to support successful project outcomes. The role holder is also responsible for the development of a flexible and proactive project community through the discipline of an Enterprise PMO environment and providing specialist advice based on in-depth knowledge within relevant business area.
