    Our teams are putting the world's retailers online using the cloud, robotics, AI, and IoT. We provide services to partner clients globally via our innovative advanced robotics technology, known as the Ocado Smart Platform ("OSP"), this drives our highly automated, multi-million pound Customer Fulfilment Centres (CFCs).     About the role

    A PCI (Product Continuous Improvement) Engineer is responsible for helping to integrate our in house technology with operational sites. This includes root causing and helping to resolve engineering problems, understanding site constraints, communicating back to development teams, and being the eyes and ears of product development on live sites.

    What you will be doing

    From handover to an agreed state of business as usual, the PCI engineer will help resolve issues on Ocado's robotics products. This spans across multiple sites and countries and include mechanical, electrical, operational and logistical issues. The role will include investigating problems, root causing, helping to develop solutions for those problems and testing those solutions before their rollout. Linking back to the development teams is a critical part of the role ensuring that any changes are documented and learnings are able to flow in both directions.

    PCI work is high pressure but rewarding, making a tangible difference to the success and profitability of Ocado.

    You will be responsible for:

    • Providing a containment for and helping resolve design based issues with electromechanical equipment in our CFCs.
    • Ensuring solutions are fully tested and documented, this includes devising and conducting those tests as required.
    • Negotiating resource across multiple teams.
    • Stakeholder management, ensuring customers and senior management are bought into the work undertaken.
    • Working with the design team to ensure any changes are fully documented and approved.
    • Ensuring all works undertaken are done safely and that any changes being made do not affect compliance adversely.
    • Meeting agreed delivery timescales.

    We'd love to talk to you if you have...

    • An engineering/ science qualification, to HND or Degree level or relevant experience
    • Strong problem solving skills , six sigma qualification or training would be beneficial
    • Data capture and analysis skills and use of appropriate software tools
    • Hands on engineering skills
    • Engineering skills to resolve manufacturing or reliability issues in conjunction with manufacturing or reliability engineers
    • Ability to communicate progress in a structured manner to an audience of varying technical levels
    • Must be willing and able to travel to other locations on a regular basis
