Responsibilities

  • Complete daily booking checks and validation to ensure team's attendance is correctly captured to ensure pay is correct and the company invoices hours for payment
  • Engage, listen and effectively communicate to teams of responsibility to optimise delivery performance
  • Manage teams of responsibility will range in size due to the scale and complexity of the work but will be between 1 to 12 or 1 to 16 with surge
  • Have day to day responsibility of teams' performance management and development to include attendance, sickness, overtime approvals, training (where appropriate) and PDP's (Personal Development Plans)
  • Lead a continuously improving culture within teams of responsibility that will provide year on year benefit
  • Be responsible and accountable for daily bookings and teams utilisation to ensure financial performance meets budgeted targets
  • Review tasks to ensure they have been completed to required standards which will result in robust right first time work acceptance performance
  • Be responsible for resource allocation ensuring team are SQEP (suitably qualified experience person) to conduct tasks
  • Ensure compliance to production plans, production work orders and service orders to adhere to schedule agreements using business toolsets
  • Ensure risk and method statements are in place and followed so work is completed to the high SHE (Safety Health & Environment) standards
  • Where appropriate – will support a Cost Account Lead (CAM) for work packages across, ensuring time, cost and quality

    Your skills and experiences

    • Have an awareness of how a team can impact upon the financial and customer relationships
    • Utilize and drive the selected business process and tool sets to enable effective delivery performance
    • Use technical and business expertise to establish solutions to production challenges that will enable reliable delivery performance
    • Be responsible for team outputs ensuring safety, quality and cost performance is delivered to the highest standard
    • Hold high levels of SHE (Safety Health Environment) knowledge that will require Risk Assessment and Method Statements skills and functional knowledge. Ideally, either IOSH or NEBOSH trained

    Desirable:

    • Experience in manufacturing systems, enterprise toolsets, including SAP, Manufacture resource planning
    • Experience Leading / managing a team

    The Cowes Manufacturing Team:

    With our international programmes and core support to UK MoD, you will work on, both new build manufacture and through life support of complex Land and Sea Radar systems.
