Responsibilities

  • Technical integration of through-life support systems and sub-systems
  • Ensuring appropriate application of the engineering lifecycle, including support to Technical Reviews and Gate Reviews, to satisfy engineering policy and programme requirements.
  • Governing TLS engineering activities in line with appropriate engineering management policies and processes
  • Writing and updating engineering management plans and associated guidance material
  • Ensuring TLS outputs are delivered with appropriate requirements management, configuration management, safety management, product security management, qualification & certification management.
  • Supporting TLS sub-teams to facilitate compliant deliverables and artefacts in line with the engineering lifecycle applied to the programme requirements
  • Ensuring alignment on engineering management and lifecycle management activities across UK partner, international partner, and customer organisations.
  • Capturing and validating TLS DAREO (Dependency, Assumptions, Risks, Exclusions, Opportunities) and ensuring DAREO items are appropriately escalated and managed

    What you'll be doing:

    • Technical integration of through-life support systems and sub-systems

    Your skills and experiences:

    • Degree level qualification (or equivalent professional experience) in relevant STEM subject (Engineering/ Physics/Maths/Science/IT)
    • Knowledge and understanding of the Systems Engineering lifecycle e.g. Requirements Engineering, Solution Design, Verification & Validation, Test & Qualification.
    • Knowledge and understanding of engineering lifecycle frameworks relevant to the development and support of military air platforms (e.g. BAE Systems ASEL, MoD CAMID lifecycle)
    • Knowledge and understanding of key policies and processes for design reviews, technical reviews and/or engineering maturity gate reviews.
    • Knowledge and understanding of the approaches to managing technical risks and opportunities on a major engineering programme

    The Through Life Support Team:

    As a part of Through Life Support Team, you will be supporting future combat air systems, managing the engineering lifecycle, and managing deliverables, ensuring key milestones are hit, Specific to FCAS and GCAP platforms. We are looking for engineers with broad technical management and/or engineering integration experience and an appetite to apply their core knowledge to the through-life support domain whilst working in a truly multi-disciplined environment.
