    Salary: £47,683 – £52,426 (Commensurate with skills on experience)

    What you'll be doing:

    Your skills and experiences:

    Essential:

    • Degree in a STEM subject or equivalent evidenced experience in a related engineering discipline
    • Technical proficiency in modelling and simulation with experience in using MathWorks toolsets, including but not limited to, MATLAB, SIMULINK and STATEFLOW
    • Understanding of system testing and qualification processes (previous experience would be beneficial)

    Desirable:

    • Technical proficiency in control engineering would be beneficial but not essential

    The Control of Bodily Weight (CoBW) Team:

    An exciting and rewarding opportunity has arisen within the Active Vehicle Control (AVC) team at Warton, for a Senior Systems Engineer within the Flight Systems discipline. The successful candidate will join the Control of Bodily Weight (CoBW) team, working as part of the AVC Functional Software organisation, on the Dreadnought AVC programme.

    The Control of Bodily Weight team at Warton is jointly responsible for the overall MBSE development and integration of the Variable Ballast (VB) Control System and interface with the Control & Instrumentation (C&I) and Mechanical System Teams on a daily basis.

    In this role you will work as part of the Air Sector and be engaged in a critical role on the Dreadnought programme to develop the functional design of the Active Vehicle Control System (AVCS) employing Model Based Engineering techniques at scale on what is a safety critical system.

    Excellent communication skills are essential to support interfaces across a number of functional work streams as well as customers and stakeholders at other BAE sites including Barrow and Rochester. Flexibility is essential and domestic travel between sites will be required.
