Responsibilities

  • Manage the design, development, testing, installation, commissioning & acceptance of the Maintenance & Training Products Team's deliverables. Ensuring that all engineering work is carried out in line with the appropriate regulations and company policies
  • Lead the Maintenance & Training Products Team in line with company values. Emphasising the criticality of the customer (internal and external), high performance, working together, developing people, and continuous improvement
  • Manage & maintain, with the support of the Ground & Train Products project management team, detailed schedules / and resource plans for the team's activities. Ensure that the Maintenance & Training Products team are adequately manned & prioritised appropriately to achieve the agreed timescales
  • Support the generation of the appropriate business cases to meet the overall Ground & Training Products strategy
  • Deliver responses to bids
  • Manage the engineering aspect of the Supplier base in delivering Maintenance & Training Products products
  • Engaged internal and external product suppliers in the development of new training solutions
  • Managing evidence to support the assurance of Product Safety
  • Development and support of future training product strategies
  • Supporting key relationships through direct interfaces with key customer stakeholders including UK MoD, BAES SA, RSAF, UK RAF, QEAF, Eurofighter and the EPCs

    Salary: £54,793 – £60,326 (Commensurate with skills and experience)

    What you'll be doing:

    Your skills and experiences:

    Essential:

    • Proven experience of Systems Engineering Design/Development
    • Extremely strong attention to detail skills
    • Strong problem analysis and resolution skills
    • Experience of Systems Engineering and Engineering Lifecycle Management
    • Experience of configuration and change management
    • Proven leadership experience and previous experience having managed a small team
    • To be IT literate using Microsoft Office Suite

    Desirable:

    • Experience working within a military or aerospace role
    • Knowledge and experience of requirements management
    • Travel may be occasionally required within the UK & overseas

As a Senior Systems Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in developing and supporting cutting-edge Typhoon Maintenance and Ground Crew Training Products for prestigious UK, NETMA, and Export programs. This exciting role encompasses a diverse range of products, including the Crew Escape and Safety Systems Trainer (CESST), Typhoon Virtual Maintenance Trainer TVMT, Electronic Classrooms (EC), and Engineering Support System Tablet (ESS-T).
