    Job title: Export Control Practitioner – Shipping

    Salary: From £34,032 – depending on skills & experience

    What you'll be doing:

    • Importing, exporting and domestic movements of defence articles for the Submarine programmes in accordance with business processes, domestic control regulations and those of other relevant jurisdictions
    • Managing shipping activities, including liasing with shipping agents
    • Maintain auditable shipping records for all imports and exports for the Submarine function
    • Supporting with internal and external audits and formal Export Control Investigations
    • Manage the Authorisation process for transporting electronic devices abroad in accordance with UK licensing requirements
    • Support and maintain a set of written Export Control processes, procedures and User Guides

    Your skills and experiences:

    Essential:

    • Knowledge and understanding of Export Control regulations and working practices
    • Proficient with MS Office and SAP
    • Demonstratable experience working with internal and external stakeholders at all levels
    • Experience working in a process or compliance-led environment

    Desirable:

    • Understanding of shipping and HMRC requirements
    • Experience of Customs duty and VAT reporting requirements
    • Previous logistics/commercial/supply chain experience

    The Export Control team:

    The role provides the ability to work in a bespoke area of the business and become a Subject Matter Export. This is a complex and demanding role where no two days will be the same.
