Responsibilities

  • Developing various API frameworks for managing data and metadata using Java
  • Developing and deploying enterprise-ready products and API's
  • Implementing infrastructure to assist data engineering roadmaps
  • Owning the development from end to end
  • Ensuring the Team objectives and priorities are well known
  • Helping the Lead Engineer in engaging with Senior Stakeholders in Data Engineering use case and customer groups
  • Working closely with architects and engineers of all levels in multiple teams across the bank, as well as security and infrastructure teams

    As a Barclays Java Developer, you will form part of a team who is accountable to design & deliver several services which work in unison to enable efficient data management which provides value add to the business, by providing an accurate and complete view of data stored across the Enterprise. You will be expected to work with counterparts in the Europe and Americas to keep the deliverables on track and run Weekly calls with your Global peers.

    What will you be doing?

    • Developing various API frameworks for managing data and metadata using Java

    • Developing and deploying enterprise-ready products and API's

    What we're looking for:

    • Bachelor's in Computer Science, related fields, or equivalent experience

    • Proficiency in Java

    • Knowledge of Micro Services framework

    Skills that will help you in the role:

    • Rest API Development knowledge

    • Application development using middleware technologies (Kafka)

    • Knowledge with Maven, GIT, TeamCity, Nexus, SonarCube, IntelliJ Idea

    • Knowledge & Hands on experience in using AWS cloud platform or Hadoop apps is good to have
