Responsibilities

  • **Strategy Development:**
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive diversity and inclusion strategy and agenda aligned with the organizations goals and values.
  • Collaborate with leadership to integrate diversity into overall business strategies and operations.
  • **Culture Development:**
  • Foster and evolve organizational culture into a more inclusive and belonging organization and support staff in navigating cultural norms and organizational expectations.
  • Support change management efforts to embed inclusive diversity and belonging in talent programs and processes.
  • In conjunction with the People Officer, COO, HR, and leadership, serve as an advocate / ally to address problematic behavior and facilitate a more diverse and inclusive culture.
  • Provide guidance on fostering a respectful, belonging, and inclusive organizational culture.
  • **Policy Development:**
  • Review, update, and develop policies that support diversity and inclusion within the organization.
  • Ensure policies and procedures are compliant with relevant laws, regulations, and firm policies.
  • Apply a DEI lens to policies to ensure they reflect a strong commitment to a culture of inclusive diversity and belonging.
  • **Training and Education:**
  • Partner with key stakeholders in the development of learning programs that facilitate inclusive diversity and belonging.
  • Provide resources and tools to promote cultural competence among staff.
  • **Employee Experience and Engagement:**
  • Collaborate across A&M to incorporate diversity considerations into the employee experience and value proposition through recruitment, onboarding, learning & development, career progression, compensation, and retention strategies.
  • Monitor and analyze workforce demographics to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Promote an inclusive workplace culture through employee engagement initiatives.
  • Facilitate employee resource groups or affinity networks to foster a sense of belonging.
  • **Metrics and Reporting:**
  • Establish metrics and key performance indicators to measure the success of diversity and belonging initiatives.
  • Prepare regular reports for leadership on the organization's diversity and inclusion progress.
  • **Community Outreach:**
  • Represent the organization in diversity-related events and forums.
  • **Legal Compliance:**
  • Stay current on diversity-related laws and regulations.
  • Ensure the organization complies with all applicable diversity and inclusion regulatory requirements.
  • **Benchmarking:**
  • Conduct benchmarking and research to stay informed about best practices in diversity and inclusion.
  • Incorporate innovative approaches to enhance diversity initiatives.

    Reporting Relationship: People Officer

    Job Overview: The Diversity Officer will support both the Public Sector and Performance Improvement practices. This person is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring inclusive diversity and belonging initiatives within these organizations and partnering across A&M in these areas.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Qualifications and Skills:

    • Bachelor's degree in a related field (human resources, organizational development, business, etc.). Advanced degree preferred.
    • 5-7 years of experience in proven experience in diversity and inclusion or related roles.
    • Strong understanding of diversity-related laws and regulations.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to influence and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
    • Analytical skills to assess and report on diversity metrics.
    • Cultural competence, awareness, and transformation.
    • Strong project management skills.

    The role of the Diversity Officer is dynamic and requires a combination of strategic thinking, interpersonal skills, and a deep commitment to fostering an inclusive and belonging workplace culture.

    • The salary range is $150,000 - $275,000 annually, dependent on several variables including but not limited to education, experience, skills, and geography.
