Responsibilities

  • Acting as a team leader for Collateral Optimisation Unit (COU) NY reporting into a Director in London
  • Exploring optimization structures for Cleared and Non-Centrally Cleared Derivative margin by working with trading, structuring sales & clients
  • Providing thought leadership on Margin for non-centrally cleared derivatives regulation for Americas Markets Businesses & clients
  • Building out Sales and Trading MIS across Markets businesses as well as the analytics to facilitate informed pricing & risk decisions
  • Supporting infrastructure partners on client outreach and thought leadership on regulatory developments
  • Supporting regulatory model governance aspects including ongoing model back testing & oversight of the margin disputes

    As a Barclays Margin and Collateral Optimisation Team Lead, you'll be the subject matter expert for the Margin for Non-Centrally Cleared Derivatives Regulation for the Americas Markets Businesses, focused on initial margin regulation, thought leadership & optimisations. This is an opportunity to manage the Collateral Optimisation Unit NY team as a center of excellence for margin & capital optimization initiatives internally and externally and work in partnership with all infrastructure partners to ensure thorough risk & control oversight.

    Salary / Rate Minimum: $155,000

    Salary / Rate Maximum: $250,000

    What will you be doing?

    What we're looking for:

    • Experience working in trading, sales or structuring client facing team, with understanding and experience in Margin for Non-Centrally Cleared Derivatives as well as ISDA SIMM

    • Numerate and highly analytical with an understanding of financial derivatives products

    • Effective team player, able to build collaborative relationships in Global team

    • Good communication skills, high attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively under pressure

    Skills that will help you in the role:

    • Experience in model methodologies & governance as well as understanding or experience on Market Risk Models such as VaR, Full revaluation approach

    • Understanding of risk, margin and collateral management practices with experience of producing business requirements specifications and performing complex analytics

    • Understanding of trade lifecycle & front-to-back flows as well as technical understanding of financial resources

    • Series 7 & 63, with experience in scripting (SQL/ Python) and in pricing OTC derivatives

    Where will you be working?

    You will be working at our Americas Headquarters at 745 Seventh Avenue. This 32-story office tower is located in Times Square in the heart of Manhattan and features a cafeteria, fitness center and state-of-the-art LED signage on the facade of the building.
