Responsibilities

  • Supporting Supplier Managers in delivering ‘best in class' supplier management of one of the group's strategic and /or operational 3rd party suppliers
  • Providing effective management of ‘complex' Supplier relationships on behalf of Barclays, by applying all elements of Sourcing and Supplier Management Policy
  • Assisting and supporting the activity of root cause analysis of incidents, implementing remedial action as agreed with the Supplier Manager team lead
  • Building an understanding of the specific cost, risk & service parameters which underpin the service and use knowledge of the service /supply to identify /deliver improvements
  • Engaging with the delivery of small/ medium variations to documentation and helping with the delivery of large change
  • Providing an interface into the supplier in respect of required variations to services, ensuring necessary discipline /agreed change acceptance methodologies are deployed at all times

    As a Barclays Supplier Manager, you will act as the key contact point between Suppliers and internal stakeholders, building relationships and ensuring compliance to all Policy and Regulatory requirements. This is an exciting opportunity to work post implementation of contracts with all suppliers and internal stakeholders across the bank to deliver innovative solutions for Barclays, balancing costs against service levels and risks, enabling Barclays to achieve its ambition of becoming the bank of choice.

    What will you be doing?

    What we're looking for:

    • Dealing with services delivered through 3rd parties and /or operational experience

    • Ability to analyse and interpret data, draw conclusions and make reasoned recommendations

    • Financially aware; analytical, with an excellent attention to detail

    • Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English

    Skills that will help you in the role:

    • Industry /market knowledge of the sector

    • Knowledge of Barclays business areas, key priorities & challenges

    • Understanding of cost, risk & service parameters

    • Preferably a degree calibre candidate with relevant qualifications
