    Job title: Weights Engineer

    Location: Warton – on site

    Salary: £47,683-£ 52,426 – depending on skills and experience

    What you'll be doing:

    • Defining and carrying out engineering tasks within your span of responsibility for you and any subordinate staff under your control
    • Agreeing your work plan with your line manager and applying the most efficient engineering methods available
    • Ensuring the technical content of your work and also that of subordinate staff, including deliverables, is acceptable to your line manager
    • Ensuring effective interactions with your team, customers, and others, to promote the best interests of the team, department and company
    • Providing efficiency and effectiveness suggestions for the development of Weights Engineering toolsets and processes within the discipline capability development framework

    Your skills and experiences:

    • Comprehensive knowledge of aircraft structure and systems Weights Engineering processes and methods, including early lifecycle weight, centre of gravity and inertia property assessment, and the management of weight targets
    • Degree/HND/HNC in a STEM subject or equivalent professional qualifications in terms of formal education
    • Relevant experience working within a Weights Engineering, Structural Engineering or Airframe related discipline
    • Previous experience of managing staff would be advantageous

    The Weights Engineering Team:

    As a part of Weights Engineering team, you will be, working within a multidisciplinary airframe team including designers, aerodynamicists, materials specialists, manufacturing engineers and structures engineers. You will be expected to support and manage work plans for yourself and for your team, contribute your knowledge and experience to help the team make effective decisions and be passionate and proactive in the development and deployment of the discipline capabilities.
