  • Working with the Product teams, suppliers and customers to achieve our ambition to deliver more sustainable products without compromising performance by: –
  • Setting the processes and capabilities to produce the product artefacts
  • Environmental legislation and regulation impact assessment
  • Environmental strategy and early lifecycle development constraints/rules
  • Product Environmental analysis
  • Identification of opportunities to reduce environmental impact
  • Identification of product sustainability risk (materials, obsolescence)
  • Life Cycle Assessment
  • Climate Impact assessment (GHG, carbon foot printing)
  • Sustainability assessments
  • Environmental justifications/ case statements
  • Capability assets (process, training, toolsets)
  • Regulatory inputs
  • You'll also have people manager responsibilities in this role.
  • Potential for short-term international travel working with working groups such as the International Aerospace Environmental Group (IAEG) representing the business to solve global environmental issues affecting the Aerospace and Defence Industry.
  • This role is key to supporting the business in our goal to achieve Scope 3 net zero in our Products covering both physical goods and operational services delivered within the UK and Internationally.
  • There is also opportunity to develop and gain experiences to achieve Chartered Engineer status with the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (or other professional institute) if not already achieved.

    Salary: £54,793.00 – £60,326.00 + Depending on skills and experience

    What you'll be doing:

    Your skills and experiences:

    Essential

    · Relevant engineering experience (STEM degree or equivalent Environmental qualifications)

    · Process Development experience

    · Product Environmental and/or Product Sustainability knowledge

    Desirable

    · IEng or CEng with Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment

    · People management experience

    · Understanding of REACH legislation

    As the Product Environmental Team (UK) we:

    – Provide Engineering functional leadership and support for Product Environmental

    – Provide pan-functional leadership and support for Product Environmental

    – Provide a pan-functional capability to support the business with the management of Hazardous Materials across our platforms and products.
