    Job title: Radar Field Service Engineer

    Location: Portsmouth – Occasional travel

    Salary: Up to £40,000 depending on experience

    What you'll be doing:

    • Provide equipment first line support and maintenance at the Maritime Integration & Support Centre (MISC) to maintain the contracted level of equipment availability
    • Integrate, and where required, work with the Field Operation Waterfront Support Team based at HMNB Portsmouth
    • Build and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders and customers and be the Point of Contact in support of Trials & Equipment Tasks
    • Work independently and as part of a team under limited technical supervision
    • Adhere with legislation and company policy
    • Review risk assessments and raise method statements to cover work where required

    Your skills and experiences:

    • Higher National Certificate (or equivalent) level qualification in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
    • Broad Engineering knowledge encompassing hardware, software and systems
    • Knowledge of Health & Safety processes
    • Familiar with security, ITAR, quality and configuration management control processes
    • Knowledge and experience of engineering governance and assurance processes (e.g. Life Cycle Management) Would be an advantage
    • Experience of fault-finding, repair and commissioning of complex electronic systems
    • Ability and willingness to gain further system knowledge via on the job training and formal courses
    • Experience of working with the SAP tool (company business tool)

    The Naval Radar Support Team:

    As a Field Services Engineer based at the Maritime Integration & Support Centre (MISC), you will work alongside the Portsmouth Naval Base Waterfront Radar Support team to provide Radar support for the Royal Navy's surface fleet and future platforms. Additionally, you may support the Field Operations Team Leader in day-to-day activities.
