  • Provide leadership, direction and individual tasking for engineers on a day to day basis in-line with the overall schedule including: requirements allocation to Subsystems/Equipment; definition of system interfaces; design reviews (Customer, internal and subcontractor); review of and approval of subcontractor deliverables; attendance at acceptance test events (where appropriate); collation of acceptance evidence for Customer requirements; and, impact assessment of Engineering Change Requests.
  • Conduct regular Engineering Team meetings and 1 to 1s to communicate priorities and obtain feedback
  • Perform appropriate engineering planning, management and review activities to ensure Engineering activities are delivered within agreed requirements for cost, quality, time and schedule
  • Provide input to CAM reporting cycle including monthly CAM reviews, Risk reviews and schedule reviews

    What you'll be doing:

    Your skills and experiences:

    • Degree qualified or equivalent in a relevant engineering or science discipline
    • Some experience of team leadership/people management
    • Experience of requirements management and product acceptance
    • Broad knowledge/experience of Systems Engineering lifecycle
    • Role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Experience of the Military or Maritime domain would be advantageous

    The Combat Systems Engineering team:

    As the Engineering Manager you will be managing a small team of engineers engaged in the procurement and integration of the Command and Control functionality for the Combat System for the Dreadnought submarine. This involves the procurement of hardware and software to provide the tactical picture functionality and the interface to the tactical weapon. The role is a Prime Contract management role, so you will be interfacing regularly with both Subcontrators and the Ministry of Defence.
