Responsibilities

  • The role will be responsible for providing a bid writing capability in support of winning campaigns. In addition the role will also act as Proposal Professional for smaller and/or less complex bids
  • Delivers completed customer focused written proposal responses against agreed deadlines – compiling, writing and editing detailed descriptions of the technical offering
  • Re-writes / edits proposal responses from a variety of stakeholders, typically involving contributions from Business Development, technical / product teams, finance, commercial, legal and project delivery
  • Coaches capture teams and subject matter experts in best practice writing techniques
  • Shaping compelling statements from data sourced within BAE Systems or drafted by SMEs
  • Supporting storyboard sessions with the Proposal Manager and SMEs to illicit information and plan responses
  • Participating in drafting documents for proposal production steps: capture planning, storyboarding, book planning, pink team, red team review and proof-reading
  • Managing the tender documentation to ensure quality of text and formatting consistently through reviews, final proofs, content sign off and document production

    Salary: £35,000 depending on skills and experience

    What you'll be doing:

    Your skills and experiences:

    • Qualified to Degree standard (not essential) or equivalent
    • Has practical and relevant work experience
    • Good project management skills, ideally within the context of proposal management or business winning
    • Proven excellent writing experience for PQQs, RFIs, ITT/ITN/RFP/RFQ or Frameworks

    The team:

    The role sits in the Maritime and Land BD Operations team that resides in Maritime Services but provides business winning support across the Maritime and Land sector providing a variety of campaigns and bids to support.

    The BD Operations team has a number of bid management, proposal management and proposal coordination roles that this role will sit alongside.

    This role also provides the opportunity to take ownership of small proposals/customer responses from start to finish in addition to the bid writing capability where appropriate.
