Responsibilities

  • Responsible for building and delivering a strategy to help your partner scale acquisition, improve retention and grow their active customer base through online and offline marketing strategies
  • Analyze and audit partner's acquisition and retention strategies and performance, identify areas of improvement and deliver actionable recommendations partners can implement within their organizations
  • Build playbooks that can serve as useful resources and help your partner scale best practice across their network
  • Become a thought partner, help inspire them with trends, best practice within the acquisition, retention, performance marketing and CRM space
  • Serve as a subject matter expert, both internally and externally on Acquisition & Retention
  • Support your team to drive the overall growth goals for the partnership

    We are seeking an experienced Senior Acquisition and Retention Manager for our fast-growing North America Solutions team at Ocado Group. This is a new role offering exciting opportunities to interact with and impact the growth of one of the biggest grocery players in the US and Ocado's largest partner, Kroger. In this role, you will combine your knowledge of ecommerce, grocery retail, and performance marketing with communication skills and analytical abilities to shape and influence how our partners grow.

    The Senior Acquisition & Retention Manager will work closely with marketing teams in our partners' business to influence and impact results, using data, experience, and best practice to help them grow their customer base. You will be collaborating closely with our partner, supporting them with analyzing data, identifying opportunities, and implementing best practice to grow online demand. You will build effective relationships with key commercial, marketing, and e commerce stakeholders in our partner's business. This role will require ~25% travel, mostly to partner locations across North America, with the occasional trip to our headquarters in the UK.

    What You Bring:

    • 5+ years experience in performance marketing, either in acquisition focussed or retention focussed roles ideally in a direct to consumer business
    • Experience in grocery ecommerce is a major plus
    • Proven track record of scaling a customer base in a direct to consumer business, and implementing a test and learn approach to identify and grow new acquisition channels
    • Demonstrated experience and understanding of how to run and optimize various acquisition channels including paid search, paid social, programmatic display, email marketing, and offline media such as direct mail and out of home advertising
    • Experience developing and implementing strategies and tactics focussed on retention, engagement, and monetisation across a broad array of channels including email, push, in-app, SMS, and print
    • Track record of driving improved performance across funnel conversion, retention and winback stages
    • Experience developing strategic approaches on targeting and segmenting audiences
    • Demonstrated ability to drive commercial impact within a business, previous responsibility for a P&L or budget is beneficial
    • Familiarity and passion for data-driven marketing, consumer insight, and e-commerce
    • Familiarity with or experience with measuring and optimizing key growth metrics including user growth, conversion, LTV
    • Comfortable utilizing data to gain a clear understanding of the customer journey, identify and implement improvements, and measure performance
    • BA/BSc degree in a business management or technical field or equivalent practical experience desirable
