Product Owner – Customer Data Services Lab
Our Mission
We're on a journey to build the bank of the future, and we need your help. We're continuing our extensive data transformation programme, redefining what a bank is from the inside out. Become part of our diverse team where you'll impact the lives of more than 26 million customers through brands including Lloyds Bank, Halifax, Bank of Scotland, and Scottish Widows.
Why we're doing this?
We're committed to Help Britain Prosper and become the best bank for customers. As part of this, we're redefining our data and digital capabilities, providing customers with personalised, simpler, continuous interactions across online, mobile and branches. Our digital platforms (public website, mobile & tablet app, and internet banking website) are where the majority of customer and colleague interactions with the bank take place. They are becoming increasingly sophisticated with the introduction of public API's, growing numbers of devices to access them from and evolving operating systems.
The Team
In the Customer Data Services (CDS) Lab, we have an opportunity to join the team at the heart of the Bank's data strategy, where Customer Data is owned and provided across the Group via APIs and strategic streaming technology to enable customer journeys across all the core channels – Internet Banking, Telephony and Branch. CDS prides itself on providing a collaborative environment where's everyone opinion is valued and crowdsourcing ideas to ensure we identify the right solution whatever the challenge. We provide data services to stakeholders across the Bank from integrating new Insurance Pensions & Investment (IP&I) systems into OCIS, to enabling the latest Mobile App functionality through providing access to our APIs.
As a Product Owner in the CDS Lab, you will have the opportunity and responsibility to engage and collaborate with those stakeholders giving you a truly cross-Divisional perspective on Group Data change roadmaps and strategy. The CDS Lab resides in the Data & Machine Learning Platform (D&ML). We provide and maintain all the personal and non-personal Customer party Data for the Bank. There are ~40 million+ customer records on our customer applications and we thereby provide a critical enabling service to the Group as we support ~14+ Critical Business Processes across the Bank from logon to payments.
The services we provide include mastery of data and holder of customer single source of truth (includes managing customer data architecture, write and read customer data, integrate new customer data via mergers & acquisitions and data quality across the data lifecycle), provide subscription to customer APIs for processes to access customer data, match & merge data, source and provide reference data and remediate data to resolve data quality issues. We are the customer domain owner for personal data and applications such as OCIS, and we service and maintain the non-personal data and applications such as COM CMD for the Bank. We also source and supply a range of internal and external reference data to the Group. We service all divisions across the Bank including Retail, Commercial, Insurance & Wealth, Enterprise Data and Digital Platforms as well as internal divisions such as Finance, Risk, Tax.
We are currently on a journey to progressively modernise our Customer Data technology estate and are building out our public cloud technologies and capabilities, which is the new Customer Data Platform. This will be the strategic customer Group data solution and asset for the Bank that will used by all divisions and cross-functional areas. This new platform is being built on public cloud technology and will involve several modern technology components including inbound data streaming services, a new customer database, new system of insight as well as customer APIs and outbound streaming services. The platform will also need the ability to stream data from on -prem systems and applications. A key offering from this new platform will be Customer Data Products and Analytical Customer Data Products to the different divisions across the Group. The role will work closely with the Foundational Data Products Lab in DML, which is overseeing the delivery of all the Enterprise Data products / services to the Group.
