    As a Senior Manager in the Public Sector Operations practice, you will play a key role in growing the Deloitte presence in the Education sector, shaping and delivering operations transformation programmes.

    Our Public Sector Operations practice helps clients implement their corporate strategy and accomplish their business objectives.

    To be successful in this role you will work as part of a team of industry specialists providing consulting services to Education clients, leveraging your experience with operating model design and implementation, service and process design, and understanding of enabling technology.

    In a constantly changing and complex environment, using our deep sector and technical expertise we transform our clients core business and operations, helping them to prepare for growth, adapt to budgetary constraints, embrace the digital agenda and maximize operational efficiency.

    We focus on the full life cycle of operations transformation - from Operating Model design through to operations transformation, including process reengineering and operational performance improvement.

    We do this through our four core propositions:

    Understanding the as-is and to-be for the organisation, in order to create the optimal business architecture for successful strategy realisation in a digital age

    Transforming clients processes at a business, functional or local level

    As a Senior Manager in our team, you will work closely alongside Partners and Directors and play a key role in influencing and shaping the strategic direction and development of the team, with the opportunity to:

    • Use your leadership capabilities to effectively manage diverse teams, with an inclusive culture where people are recognised for their delivery of client work
    • Lead client engagements and develop strong long-term client relationships as a trusted business advisor in the Education sector
    • Leverage your Education expertise to lead on projects, develop innovative thought leadership and support the growth of our business
    • Play an active role in the recruitment and career development of more junior team members
    • Develop trusted relationships with our clients
    • Actively leading and contributing to the development of the Education and Public Sector Operations teams
    • Learn from the best in the Business and also help recruit the best people whilst driving activity such as proposition development and marketing

    Essential Skills

    • An understanding of the major issues faced in the Education sector and an interest in innovative solutions and strategies to transform the sector
    • Experience of designing and delivering operating model solutions in Education
    • Experience of influencing in high-profile, complex situations where stakeholders do not always agree about methods, decisions and strategic direction
    • Degree qualified or equivalent experience
    • Experience of delivering within projects or leading workstreams on transformations such as target operating model design / implementation, process re-engineering or cost reduction within a client environment or consulting firm
    • Able to articulate complex ideas to all levels of an organisation, and effectively lead and manage all key stakeholders and team members, resolving issues, competing demands and conflicts
    • Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work in collaborative, multi-disciplinary environments
    • Ability to adapt to rapidly changing circumstances and to think creatively to solve client issues
    • Excellent ability in Microsoft Office, particularly in Powerpoint and Excel

    Desirable Skills

    • Knowledge of business design and business architecture practices or cost transformation
    • Experience of working in Agile delivery frameworks, especially in Education environments including Scrum
    • Experience and ability to operate and understand Project and Programme management disciplines including production of project plans, key quality programme deliverables and working and delivering to strict time constraints

    Our hybrid working policy

    You'll be based in one of our UK offices with hybrid working. Our hybrid model enables our people to collaborate, connect and innovate in both a virtual and physical capacity.
