  • Medicines at Ware are presented as either Respiratory devices or in Oral Solid Dose form. The site holds a unique position in our network as the only site responsible for launching the company's pipeline of new medicines in these dose forms.
  • Supporting and in some cases managing mitigations on a range of gaps from GQP and GES Standards
  • Relevant engineering qualifications and experience is required. A good standard of numeracy and literacy is essential. You will be a willing learner and a good communicator who takes personal accountability, ownership and action. Good verbal, written and computer communication skills are needed, and you will be able to adopt a participative management style to empower the team (by involving them in performance evaluation and improvement processes).
  • Responsible for assessing and proposing improvements across Assembly systems and associated Infrastructure on site (supporting documentation and validation reviews).
  • Frequent interaction with Quality and Safety Practitioners and Regulatory bodies (via regulatory GMP audits and product market-specific audits). This may include preparing and presenting at Technical Quality Audits.
  • Performing root cause analysis of deviations, including collaborating with various departments (eg; Engineering, Quality, EHS and Production).
  • Supporting and driving conformance to asset maintenance strategy and integrating Continuous Improvement techniques (looking to further integrate digital and data processes to optimize operational effectiveness of the plant).
  • Responsible for improvements of procedures relevant to Assembly.

    GSK's Ware Site is one of the key manufacturing centers for GSK, manufacturing medicines and supplying globally. We are looking for a Platform Engineer to join our team providing engineering expertise within the Assembly production function.

    The Platform Engineer role exists to deliver professional engineering expertise for unit operations to ensure demonstrated design, installation and performance is maintained and continuously improved during the operational life cycle of the equipment. This extends to ensuring that business driven improvements upgrades, modifications and adaptations are implemented to meet quality and performance targets. The role operates under the direction of an Engineering manager and technical authorities across multiple equipment Platforms.

    The Ware Campus is seeing a significant amount of investment in steam main distribution, seeing multiple large capital asset refreshment programmes in place across the campus. The role holder will influence and provide technical guidance facilitating this expansion.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Minimum of a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) or Bachelor of Science (BSc) in an Engineering discipline (or relevant experience and working towards)

    • Incorporated Engineer Status (or working towards)

    • Relevant experience of working within manufacturing engineering teams

    • Knowledge of and experience of working within highly regulated (GMP) environments
