Responsibilities

  • Building relationships with Group Partner companies and through them bring the whole bank to the client delivering products to meet their needs.
  • Lead a designated trading portfolio of clients to identify and satisfy client needs in the most appropriate way, meeting the Bank's credit and profitability requirements.
  • Develop deposit and lending strategy for the portfolio and ensure client needs are met.
  • Providing excellent service to our clients, adding value at every interaction and becoming a “trusted advisor”.
  • Promoting the bank with professionals and key influencers through your knowledge of the local market.
  • Providing a range of funding solutions from our Term Lending and Working Capital product range tailoring them to Client needs.
  • Handle the risk and compliance of your client portfolio.

    JOB TITLE: Relationship Director, Trading Sector

    LOCATION: Midlands

    HOURS: Full Time

    WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of your time, at our Birmingham office.

    About this opportunity

    We have an exciting opportunity for a Relationship Director to join our hard-working and successful SME Midlands Team to support businesses within the Trading sector. You'll support clients within the SME portfolio with all their banking needs including lending, deposits, and a wide range of other services. There is an expectation to grow the portfolio, by attracting high value clients, through becoming the go to banking professional within your local community, or through bringing more of the bank's proposition to your existing clients, whilst ensuring the effective management of risk. This role is an integral part of the local market, developing business opportunity, and representing the group in the professional community.

    What we need from you?

    • Previous banking experience with a proven track record delivering results.
    • Highly proficient at building and maintaining positive relationships with external professionals and adept at winning good volumes of higher value new client relationships.
    • Specialist credit and sector knowledge with the ability to deliver excellent client experiences whilst identifying ways to grow income, balance sheet and market share and handling associated risks.
    • Growth mindset and be keen to adopt and use key tools that enhance the client experience and demonstrate the value a Face-to-Face Relationship Manager brings to a client's business.
    • Confident at promoting the bank's image through strong ethics & integrity across a range of clients, prospects & professionals.
