As a Barclays Automation Engineer, you will report into the Regional Head of Data Store and will work with other members of the team, other areas of Cloud Platforms, Business Units and key stakeholders to test, certify, deploy, manage, and support the automation initiatives/solutions and produce standard documentation. What will you be doing?

• Leading automation initiatives in the Teradata team, such as Jenkins, Ansible, Kafka, Python

• Assisting with and maintaining the existing ColdFusion v10 estate and migrate functionality to strategic alternatives where possible

• Working closely with the wider database engineering team to share ideas and adopt common solutions

• Acting as a Subject Matter Expert within the database product team, mentoring junior team members, and supporting stakeholders

• Helping with many strategic decisions, balancing the decisions based on the requirements of multiple stakeholders and the wider organisation strategy

• You will be working with Automation and DevOps toolsets to ensure delivery is met

What we're looking for:

• Experience in Python, Ansible, Teradata, HTML, Javascript, jQuery, EXT

• Knowledge of Full stack ColdFusion development /CFML & CFScript /Custom Tags

• Experience of ColdFusion v10 (out of support) / Model View Controller/ Fusebox 5.5

• MS SQL Architectural and development experience

Skills that will help you in the role:

• Previous experience in Jenkins

• Knowledge of other versions of ColdFusion (for potential upgrade opportunities)

• API development knowledge

• Good knowledge of standard development and build tools e.g. GIT, Jenkins, Ansible

You will be based in Radbroke, Knutsford. The Barclays Technology Campus just outside Manchester is our tech command centre and a vital strategic powerhouse behind our global operations. The campus is set in a 64 acre self-contained site, in a beautiful green environment and it offers unrivalled facilities for work and for play.
