Responsibilities

  • Managing client expectations and demands whilst maintaining excellent client relationships
  • Managing the deployments in pre-production environments with self-service deployments and by facilitating deployments from external teams on multi-platform systems
  • Maintaining a record of actual deployments and other knowledge contents, producing weekly KPIs that are consistent and adhering to EaaS standards
  • You will work with Project and Release Leads in order to set up and manage environment release calendars, aligning release management team as per the plan setup release calendar
  • Identifying and managing risks in the day to day activities, reporting to line management in an appropriate and timely manner
  • Ensuring process and best practice of release management are followed and involve regular reviews of existing Release management processes, and process improvements
  • Maintaining Application and infrastructure version details are up-to date across the environment landscape and perform upgrades of environments as required
  • Preparing and maintaining weekly and monthly reports for waste data extract and count of Releases completed

Release Manager

As a Barclays Release Manager, you will support DevOps initiative to move our current applications in a delivery model that support Cloud, CI/CD automated testing and deployment of infrastructure as code. You will be responsible for creating technology solutions to meet business requirements, in line with Cluster and Group IT strategies and architectures. You will demonstrate ownership and control of Corporate and Payment owned code assets, providing date to day management and guidance to the technical subject matter experience.

What will you be doing?

What we're looking for:

• Hands-on experience with CICD with Jenkins and other common DevOps tools including Git/Stash, Jenkins, Nexus, Chef, Docker, SonarQube and Checkmarx

• Proficient in Openshift V4/Docker to build, configure, deploy & maintain Applications in Platform as a Service (PaaS

• Linux shell scripting, expect shell scripting and windows batch scripting experience

• Understanding of Web & Application servers/architecture e.g JBoss, Tomca and well versed in internet architectures - web, application/database components – such as Apache, Jboss, Oracle

Skills that will help you in the role:

• Capability to design build and provide end to end solutions for DevOps CI/CD automation, Containerisation

• Hands on experience in groovy scripting

• Familiar with Chef, terraform, gradle and /or ansible and scripting skills in language such as Bash, Perl, Python etc

• Experience in maintaining and extending VBA macros

Where will you be working?

You will be based in Radbroke Hall, Knutsford. The Barclays Technology Campus just outside Manchester is our Tech Command Centre and a vital strategic powerhouse behind our global operations. The campus is set in a 64-acre self-contained site, in a beautiful green environment and it offers unrivalled facilities for work and for play.
