Responsibilities

  • Plan, Design and Implement network solutions to meet customer business requirements.
  • Technical Lead for delivery of customer network projects.
  • Ensure Change Control and other mandatory processes are adhered to.
  • Co-ordinate and implement network changes across different time zones.
  • Where required undertake hands-on build activity to stage, commission and install new network equipment.
  • Production of customer site and solution network documentation.
  • Monitor progress of activities within each project; providing regular updates to Management and key stakeholders.
  • Management and coordination of 3rd party suppliers.
  • Presentation of solutions delivered to team members and colleagues as required.
  • Provide technical support and assistance to pre-sales activity.
  • Develop and maintain departmental procedures and customer best practices standards.
  • Ensure technical knowledge is kept up to date and make recommendations to changes in customer technical standards.
  • Work co-operatively with team members and colleagues, contributing positively and constructively to the achievement of team and organisational objectives.

Changes are scheduled in a timely manner, regression plans included and implementation aligned to customer brand and location time zone. All projects are successfully completed within agreed SLA and on budget.
  • Post Implementation. Acceptance into Live Service (AILS) process is followed. Documentation is produced and delivered to support teams. All documentation is stored in line with current policy and in compliance with LRQA/QMS standards. Updates applied to team processes and best practices documentation if required following introduction of new technology.

Location: Manchester - Site Travel/Hybrid*
Salary: Excellent basic salary plus bonus and Vodafone benefits
Hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week – Mon to Fri

Who you are


A minimum of 5 years' experience designing, configuring and implementing predominantly Cisco LAN, WLAN and WAN solutions in an enterprise environment.
In-depth knowledge and practical experience of Networking Products from Cisco, F5, NetScaler and NetOptics including:


Switches
- Cisco Catalyst Series (LAN Core/Access)
- Cisco Blade Series
- Cisco Nexus Series (LAN Core/Data Centre)
- Cisco Nexus 2000 Series Fabric Extenders
- Cisco Meraki MS


Routers
- Cisco ISR/ASR (Branch/Edge)


Load Balancers
- F5 BIG-IP iSeries


Cisco Unified Computing System (UCS)
- Cisco 6248UP Fabric Interconnect


Security
- Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE)
- Cisco Meraki MX


Wireless LAN
- Cisco Meraki MR Access Points



  • Proven experience of working with Cisco Nexus 6000, 7000 and 9000 Series switches and NX-OS.

  • Practical and theoretical experience of routing protocols: EIGRP, OSPF, BGP.

  • Experience of Nokia VitalQIP Appliance Manager (DNS/DHCP and IP address management).

  • PC literate and competent with MS Word/Excel/Visio.

  • Self-motivating individual with the ability to develop strong customer relationships as well as functioning in a team environment
