  • Being responsible for solving complex problems, both quantitative and qualitative in nature
  • Applying programming experience in, for example Python, R, or Matlab to ensure effective analysis and validation

Traded Risk Models Validator

As a Barclays Traded Risk Models Validator, you will be primarily responsible for performing and documenting analysis, testing and validation of market risk models and counterparty credit risk models. As part of the Traded Risk Models Independent Validation Unit (IVU), you will play a critical role supporting independent review and validation activities and have an opportunity to support and contribute as part of a global, professional team with growing responsibilities.

What will you be doing?

What we're looking for:

• MSc or above in mathematics, statistics, physics, or quantitative finance subject

• Developed mathematical skills, including in probability, statistics, differential and integral calculus, linear algebra, stochastic calculus, and numerical methods

• Applied programming skills in languages / packages such as Python, R, or Matlab

• Ability to conduct independent analysis, testing, and research

Skills that will help you in the role:

• Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to collaborate or team up with, build and maintain a network of stakeholders

• Ability to assess and prioritise model issues in terms of significance and impact

• Developed document writing skills

• Ability to simplify and explain complex technical concepts to senior management

In the heart of Canary Wharf, our headquarters at Churchill Place boasts onsite amenities such as; a gym, staff restaurant and deli bar, and is easily accessible by tube and bus links. With a population of around 5000 staff the atmosphere is second to none with a real buzz being created around the offices within.
