Within GBM, HSBC Market & Securities Services (MSS) works with corporate and institutional clients where we provide a wide range of markets products via our specialist teams.

We are currently seeking a professional to join our Institutional Sales (IS) team as an Associate Director.

An overview of the role is - this a sales position selling Equity Derivative products both flow and solutions with three main pillars: Risk Recycling, QIS and custom baskets into IS clients like Hedge Funds, Pension & Insurance Funds

The role holder will also ensure the HSBC values are present in everything they do, both individually and as an organisation. The role is office-based working at HSBC offices at Canada Square, London and will include travel for client meetings. You must be able to work in London on a full-time basis.

In this role you will be expected to:

  • Contribute to the identification of Origination sales solutions that address specific needs for Institutional Sales (IS) clients
  • Be responsible for implementing and executing a strategy to grow a nominated IS client portfolio
  • Have a creative, persistent and assertive mind-set in order to maintain and develop deep business relationships with the clients
  • Effectively collaborate with other internal businesses within Markets and Securities Services as well as other areas within the Group
  • Manage transaction execution following pricing from relevant pricing team and maintain complete & accurate records

Requirements

To be successful you will demonstrate the following:

  • Have a deep understanding of Equity Derivatives across these solutions: Risk Recycling, QIS and Custom baskets OR have a similar level of knowledge across other derivatives instruments such as Rates, FX etc.
  • Possess senior level sales experience related to winning sales via origination, growth and new to bank business
  • Have a thorough grasp of the structures of Institutional organisations i.e. Hedge, Pension & Insurance funds.
  • Have highly developed relationship management skills that engender a Trusted Advisor status amongst your client stakeholder group and internal teams & colleagues
  • Good knowledge of financial services Risk & Governance and the appropriate controls used in a Front Office setting
