  • Approving credit proposals within delegated discretion or appropriate recommendation to relevant sanctioning level
  • Monitoring allocated portfolio and industries for material developments affecting credit quality and the initiation of appropriate action
  • Conducting financial risk analysis (balance sheet, P&L and cash flow) of clients including supporting the annual review process
  • Analysing credit risk taken by the Barclays Group to customers/industries across a wide range of commercial banking products
  • Supporting financial modelling or stress testing in support of requests/transactions
  • Attending credit-focused client calls and face to face meetings (where appropriate)
  • Maintaining the respective internal data systems and support internal/external reporting
  • Leading credit processes for complex transactions

Credit Risk Sanctioner - Medium Enterprise

As a Barclays Credit Risk Sanctioner - Medium Enterprise, you will act as a sanctioner within the Credit Risk team. Accountable for reviewing and undertaking credit analysis and sanctioning, you will recommend exposure and exposure policies within acceptable risk parameters across a portfolio of Corporate Bank clients. What will you be doing?

• Approving credit proposals within delegated discretion or appropriate recommendation to relevant sanctioning level

What we're looking for:

• Experience of general accounting principles, cash flow and balance sheet analysis, financial modelling techniques, risk measurement and hedge management techniques

• Developed knowledge across a wide range of Corporate Banking products including trade financing, derivative products and documentation

• A track record of sound commercial and credit judgement / review

• Excellent interpersonal skills with proven track record of demonstrating integrity, initiative, great commitment and collaborative approach

Skills that will help you in the role:

• Numerate degree or equivalent preferred

• Proven experience working with Corporate clients, and ideally exposure to credit sanctioning process

• Transaction experience, which could include Mergers and acquisitions, Leverage Finance and corporate facilities

• Decisive, clear, and capable of acting at speed and have the energy and resilience to work in a complex and challenging environment
