Our team of accounting and reporting specialists within Deloitte CFO Advisory Services focus in the following areas:

  • Accounting & Reporting Advisory - Assist companies in understanding, assessing impact and operationalizing complex accounting and reporting changes resulting from shifting regulations, new accounting standards and capital market transactions including Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG)
  • Controllership innovation- Inefficient or ineffective Finance and Accounting operations (including inefficient financial close process) or anticipated Finance transformation spur desire to bring innovation (Technology, Operating Model and Process) to the Controllership function.
  • Integration/Divesture/Readiness Services – Assist companies in meeting the accounting and reporting challenges resulting from business transactions such as acquisitions, divestitures and initial public offerings.
  • implementing new internal controls standards, compliance with SOX, integrating governance and controls into ERP implementations, compliance risks resulting from digital transformations and changes to accounting processes

As a Client Service Leader, you'll own development of Deloitte's CFO Advisory expertise and client base within the Life Sciences industry sector. You'll provide leadership to shape, create and deliver world-class offerings in the marketplace and will play a key role in:

  • Splitting time between business development (40%) and delivery (60%); with a foundation in client management.

  • Providing leadership for constructing and integrating Deloitte's current offerings to serve client needs.

Playing a key role in helping guide the firm's continued development of leading-edge consulting within Accounting and & Internal Controls.

Your day-to-day tasks may include:

Engagement Execution:

  • Overseeing the delivery of engagements; Participating in engagement planning and budgeting; managing engagement economics; managing engagement risk;

Business Development:

  • Leading and driving the proposal development process; leading proposal pricing strategies; developing and capitalizing on client relationships; Identifying “pull through” opportunities for Advisory services outside of Accounting & Internal Controls

Practice Development & Eminence:

  • Bringing an existing “brand” to the group that is recognized by your peers and by broader industry groups

People Development:

  • Actively participating in recruitment and retention activities; providing support for delivery teams; councilling, coaching and leading more junior members

Connect to your skills and professional experience

  • Technical or advisory related experience in entity and enterprise accounting and/or technical accounting is essential
  • Life Sciences industry expertise desirable
  • Organisation leadership is essential
  • Project leadership experience in areas such as process mapping, root cayse/ gap analysis, best fits requirements gathering / definition development, financial modelling aned value mapping
  • Ability to perform and review technical research of complex accounting issues
  • Mastery of operational and financial internal controls, including work related to compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley
  • Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in Finance, Accounting, Information Technology, Risk Management, Economics or related field desirable
  • Certification in any of the following is required: CPA, CIA, CFA, CA, CCA, CMA, CAIA, PMP or FRM
  • Knowledge of U.S. GAAP, IFRS, and SEC rules and regulations
  • Experience as a user of or administrator of a common ERP Finance and Reporting package (SAP, Oracle, JDE, etc)
