Responsibilities

  • On identification of a ‘go' bid, work alongside the Bid Manager to organise the setup of a bid kick-off meeting; discussing the agenda and attendees required; circulating documents in advance; arranging room bookings or conference calls.
  • Ensuring effective and timely lines of communication between various bid stakeholders, including management of clarification questions and responses.
  • Managing ongoing scheduling of meetings for the bid team at key stages, if necessary, depending on the size and complexity of the bid.
  • Supporting the Bid Manager in engaging with the identified Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) who will provide content in response to the tender document and escalating delayed responses to seniors.
  • Setting up, populating, updating and publishing a bid tracker on MSD to ensure the bid team are aware of the schedule and ensuring co-ordinated, centralised management of template documents and bid content.
  • Responding to due diligence questionnaires from the intermediary market to protect selection panel position.

    LOCATION(S): Edinburgh or Gloucester

    HOURS: Full time

    WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at our office.

    Insurance and Wealth helps personal and business customers with their long-term protection, retirement and investment needs. We support millions of customers with assets under administration and annuity payments in retirement every year.

    You'll join us in the IP&I Bid Team, where we look after the development and execution of our winning Workplace Savings business. You'll be a key player in several large New Business and Retention opportunities, supporting the Bid Managers in timely way, to respond to requests for proposals. You'll also play a key role in maintaining new business selection position, through the completion of due diligence surveys for the intermediary market.

    In summary, you'll be coordinating all bid related activities with the entire bid team, from kick off through to bid delivery.

    What you'll need

    • A background of working on multiple bid projects at once, in a large and complex organisation
    • Knowledge and practical experience of bid management principles
    • Adept at handling large data collation exercises, in a bid environment, under tight timescales
    • Accustomed to building collaborative rapport with internal and external partners, demonstrating your ability to influence and lead
    • Experience of calling out and escalating potential key project deliverables which are at risk of being compromised
    • Advance level Microsoft Office skills

    And any experience of these would be really useful

    • Knowledge of Qvidian proposal automation
    • Background in workplace savings or pensions
