Responsibilities

  • Identifying and enabling stakeholders to collaborate and improve systems, services and processes, with a particular focus on Engineering related subject matter
  • Running capability forums with relevant stakeholders to identify and progress change projects
  • Collate and evaluate critical datasets communicating findings with key stakeholders
  • Triaging lessons learned and reviewing feedback in order to share knowledge and identify best practices and problem solving
  • Consulting with leadership for steer requests
  • Accurately communicating change project progress, articulating and mitigating risks and issues
  • Developing and managing relevant dashboards and reporting
  • Developing and implementing tools and procedures to improve data driven decision making
  • You will be rigorous in identifying and realising the benefits to the business
  • You will be a key representative for Central Operations, taking responsibility for driving the identification, implementation and benefits realisation of change projects

About the role

As an Optimisation Specialist, you will sit within Continuous Improvement with focus on supporting and improving the full programme management life cycle of our highly automated, multi-million pound Customer Fulfilment Centres (CFCs), and other technology installations.

You will be a key representative for Central Operations, taking responsibility for driving the identification, implementation and benefits realisation of change projects. You will be rigorous in identifying and realising the benefits to the business. You will be required to take the principal in achieving improvement projects as needed, as well as being a key contributor to the development and achievement of the Central Operations objectives and goals.

What you will be doing

  • Identifying and enabling stakeholders to collaborate and improve systems, services and processes, with a particular focus on Engineering related subject matter
  • Running capability forums with relevant stakeholders to identify and progress change projects
  • Guiding brainstorming ideas for change
  • Guiding or supporting cross functional working groups, assigning actions and resolving the need for focus groups to deep dive a particular subjects or change projects
  • Collate and evaluate critical datasets communicating findings with key stakeholders
  • Triaging lessons learned and reviewing feedback in order to share knowledge and identify best practices and problem solving
  • Consulting with leadership for steer requests
  • Guiding change projects, working alongside engineering and technical Subject Matter Experts [SMEs]
  • Creating change project charters; ensuring the problem description, scope and benefits are clearly defined to allow for appropriate prioritisation
  • Accurately communicating change project progress, articulating and mitigating risks and issues
  • Developing and managing relevant dashboards and reporting
  • Developing and implementing tools and procedures to improve data driven decision making
  • Developing internal Delivery Excellence management processes, procedures and documentation templates

We'd love to talk to you if you have...

  • Educated up to degree level in Project Management or Engineering related field, or at least five years of professional experience in a project management and/or engineering focused role
  • Experience working in an Engineering sector
  • Demonstrable experience of controlled change with tangible outcomes
  • Track record of realising benefits within an organisation
  • In depth understand of business processes
  • Schedule, budget, requirements and risk management experience
  • Ability to make key decisions based on risk, weighing up related impact
  • High attention to detail, organisation and time management skills
  • IT literate - Google Workspace

Bonus points if you also have…

  • Previous Project Management training e.g. a formal project management qualification
  • Experience across multiple delivery methodologies e.g. agile, waterfall, scrum
  • Experience using Planisware, Oracle Fusion
