Responsibilities

  • Set up and implement an automated payroll system for in-house processing, filling a skills gap within the team.
  • Be the go-to person for the new system
  • Process and deliver accurate end-to-end payroll, including third-party payments, reports, and supplementary payrolls.
  • Conduct pre and post-commitment audits of pay data to ensure accuracy.
  • Manage daily payroll operations efficiently, prioritising workload effectively.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to employees and stakeholders, resolving queries promptly and within SLAs.
  • Ensure compliance with information security and GDPR requirements.

About the role:

This role is pivotal in ensuring smooth payroll operations, handling queries, managing third-party payments, and reconciling control accounts.

You will:

  • Set up and implement an automated payroll system for in-house processing, filling a skills gap within the team.
  • Be the go-to person for the new system
  • Process and deliver accurate end-to-end payroll, including third-party payments, reports, and supplementary payrolls.
  • Conduct pre and post-commitment audits of pay data to ensure accuracy.
  • Manage daily payroll operations efficiently, prioritising workload effectively.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to employees and stakeholders, resolving queries promptly and within SLAs.
  • Ensure compliance with information security and GDPR requirements.

About you:

Essential qualities:

  • Previous experience processing in-house payroll, particularly high volume hourly paid payrolls.
  • Proficiency in manual payroll calculations (PAYE, NI, pension).
  • Strong knowledge of payroll processes, controls, and legislation.
  • Attention to detail with a commitment to achieving 100% accuracy.
  • Ideally CIPP qualified (Associate CIPP Payroll Technician Certificate or above).

Desired qualities:

  • Experience with Oracle Fusion system.
  • Familiarity with system integration processes.
  • Broad understanding of the People Team and its interlink with Payroll.
