Responsibilities

  • Providing subject matter expertise as a point of contact for Trade and break resolution for the credit business
  • Working on historical Credit Special Situations Fobo breaks in the US - reviewing restructures and balance sheet valuations
  • Reviewing management information produced by the Product Control team
  • Reviewing Key Reporting Indicators to ensure that controls are being run effectively and P&L/balance sheet reporting is accurate
  • Developing expertise and exposure to more product classes with booking streams and lifecycles
  • Doing daily ad hoc support across the credit PC teams, leading as a support to front office and infrastructure partners and assisting the directors/VPs onshore and offshore as required
  • Financial accounting, ensuring that the general ledger and financial statements accurately reflect the financial position, including comprehending booking methods for new structures
  • Assisting the Credit Business, initially Credit Special Situations and Par Loans then helping resolve other issues in other PC teams

FI Credit - Product Control

As a Barclays Fixed Income - Credit Product Control, you will join a global team or professionals with a focus on control, servicing, and reporting. With a focus on loans and credit special situations, you will provide financial accounting assistance to resolve front to back booking differences, ensure daily ad hoc assistance across the product control teams, assist directors, and ensure general ledger and financial statements are accurate.

What will you be doing?

What we're looking for:

• A Qualified Accountant with numerate based A-levels and degree

• Experience in Loans products, accounting, and corresponding product revenue (Term Loans, Revolvers, Delayed Draws, etc)

• Experience explaining material profit and loss events and linking these to market events

• Competence in reporting in a financial services environment, with knowledge of accounting and finance concepts

Skills that will help you in the role:

• Knowledge in Loans related applications (LOANSIQ)

• Solid analytical and numerate skills and problem solving

• Self-motivated and a highly enthusiastic self-starter, demonstrated by innovative solution implementation such as automation and improvement of control processes

• Proficiency in MS Suite (Outlook, Excel including macros, Access, and Word)
