Investment Banks are experiencing a unique set of conditions which requires them to change the way they operate. Whilst innovation can unlock a number of opportunities, Investment Banks need to understand how to transform in order to become more efficient. As a Senior Consultant in Operating Model Transformation – Capital Markets, you will work on complex projects to identify opportunities for Investment Banks to become more efficient, identifying cost reduction opportunities, applying new technologies as well as re-thinking the business and operating model.

You will have the opportunity to learn and grow by using the practice's sophisticated tools and methodologies, whilst having the opportunity to build meaningful client relationships. You will also have the chance to work with and learn from some of the top practitioners in our firm.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have had exposure to project work and be able to understand front-to-back operations as well as the full trade life cycle so that you can provide tangible solutions.

You should also be able to develop strong relationships, contribute innovative ideas, and manage change and ambiguity effectively and confidently. Your existing industry and project management knowledge/experience will be critical and will support your development in the team. We will provide you with the appropriate support to continually develop yourself, add real value and build credibility in the industry from an early stage.

As a Manager in Operating Model Transformation – Capital Markets, you will be responsible for understanding the client's needs and will lead on:

  • Producing quality deliverables that could entail designing and implementing operating models for transformation programmes;
  • Analysing the cost base of banks / functions to identify cost reduction opportunities;
  • Overseeing process transformation using various methods e.g. traditional lean methods, process mining, intelligent automation, analytics etc;
  • Developing new business requirements;
  • Managing work streams on large scale technology programmes.

You will also be expected to lead and manage more junior team members as well as to lead and support internal projects and business development work.

To qualify for the role you should have:

  • Delivery experience in Capital Markets within a Professional Services firm or internal consulting / change experience at a major Capital Markets institution
  • Experience in investment banking and Capital Markets industry, front-, middle- or back-office processes etc.
  • Technical or business line experience in a key area in Capital Markets – e.g. Front Office, Operations functions, Trade Life Cycle (Pre-Trade / Post Trade processing), Securities Processing, Collateral Management etc.
  • Experience managing small engagements and teams
  • Project experience in one of the following: cost transformation, process analysis and transformation, Target Operating Model, payments transformation, technology delivery
  • Strong problem solving skills with ability to clearly structure analysis
  • Proven change management and change delivery ability
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent relationship / stakeholder management skills
  • Advanced PowerPoint and Excel skills

Additional desirable experience includes:

  • Experience in developing cost models and business cases
  • Experience in process intelligence tooling (process mining, communications mining etc.)
  • Ability to implement via agile methodologies
  • Digital experience and knowledge, with interest in disruptive technologies e.g. AI, analytics, process automation etc.
  • Experience in understanding business requirements with the ability to convert them into solution designs
  • An understanding of how technology architecture supports the F2B trade lifecycle e.g. understanding of pre-trade systems, risk management systems, post trade systems etc.
  • Ability to analyse large data sets (e.g. trade data) and use industry standard tooling e.g. Alteryx, PowerBI, Tableau etc.
  • Understanding of the impact of the net zero transition on business models
  • Experience in sustainability-driven transformation
