Responsibilities

  • Identify, assess and mitigate tax risks and ensure compliance with local laws and regulations
  • Execute internal, external and government audits as needed
  • Deliver financial controls, finance transformation, quality and value targets as well as the related operational efficiencies for all areas of accountability
  • Set up and operate tax function and processes, systems and reporting for the Hyper go live as per project plan
  • Responsible for end-to-end tax function across Hyper entities, to minimize tax liabilities and risks for the company
  • Develop and implement tax strategies that align with overall business objectives
  • Responsible for the overall tax position of Hyper Group on all direct and indirect taxes
  • Work with external consultants and internal team members to review operating mechanisms across Hyper looking at all aspects of tax including permanent establishment
  • Coordinate interaction with external tax consultants and tax authorities during the tax audits
  • Ensure effective relationship and performance management at world class/market leading operational excellence with Vodafone SSC
  • Manage and support formal governance routes for escalation of issues and queries
  • Provide tax input to relevant senior management groups, as requested and to local functions on activities within their specific areas of responsibility that may have tax implications
  • Stay relevant with tax amendments across all locations to ensure the implementation of such changes in a timely manner

Role Purpose


Finance Operations and Margin Assurance (FOMA) delivers services to the Finance organisation and businesses for all Group of Hyper entities. It is accountable for the delivery of all financial actuals and secure margin and value across all Hyper markets globally.


This role has operational accountability to develop and implement effective tax strategies to optimize the tax position and ensure tax compliance in an accurate and timely manner including direct and indirect tax across the Hyper footprint. Execute internal, external and government audits as needed. Identify, assess and mitigate tax risks and ensure compliance with local laws and regulations


What you'll do



  • Develop and implement tax strategies that align with overall business objectives. Responsible for end-to-end tax function across Hyper entities, to minimize tax liabilities and risks for the company

  • Ensure all transactions have been fully analysed from a tax perspective while presenting risks and mitigations for business challenges

  • Work with external consultants and internal team members to review operating mechanisms across Hyper looking at all aspects of tax including permanent establishment

  • Manage tax risks and litigations while actively working with internal and external stakeholders

  • Stay relevant with tax amendments across all locations to ensure the implementation of such changes in a timely manner

  • Deliver financial controls, finance transformation, quality and value targets as well as the related operational efficiencies for all areas of accountability

  • Ensure effective relationship and performance management at world class/market leading operational excellence with Vodafone SSC

  • Manage and support formal governance routes for escalation of issues and queries

  • Provide tax input to relevant senior management groups, as requested and to local functions on activities within their specific areas of responsibility that may have tax implications

  • Set up and operate tax function and processes, systems and reporting for the Hyper go live as per project plan

  • Ensure Day 1 tax compliance and reporting for al Hyper entities

  • Responsible for the overall tax position of Hyper Group on all direct and indirect taxes

  • Responsible for creation of innovative, efficient and tax effective advice for Hyper Group and each entity to minimise the impact of tax charges on the operations and financial position of the business

  • Coordinate interaction with external tax consultants and tax authorities during the tax audits


Who you are



  • Leadership skills and experience in managing teams in a complex and changing/dynamic operating environment

  • Experience of dealing with domestic and international taxation authorities and Governments

  • Exceptional written and verbal English communication skills, to ensure a transparent representation of the results, processes and procedures and to influence multiple stakeholders

  • able to work assertively with partner, and present to C-level executives

  • ‘Can Do' mindset with focus on customer satisfaction beyond expectations

  • University Degree in Finance, ACCA

  • 15+yrs tax and finance experience gained in large, multi-national organisation

  • IFRS knowledge

  • Certified Tax Consultant is an advantage
