Responsibilities

  • Manage and motivate a highly skilled presales team with an understanding of the business and market environment customers operate in, and capable of addressing increasingly complex IoT connectivity requirements
  • Lead the team to ensure the right organisation structure, know-how, capabilities, tools, and working methods are in place to achieve the business objectives
  • Responsible for winning sales opportunities by providing superior solutions and proposals that address customer's needs, add value and differentiate Vodafone against competition
  • Ensure the most efficient use of resources (both manpower and technical) to maximise business impact both for Vodafone and the customer
  • Provide input to Product and Engineering teams to evolve Vodafone's capabilities to address customer needs

Role Purpose...
The Senior Manager IoT Presales will lead a global team of customer facing IoT Solution Architects and IoT Service Sales Experts and will be responsible for ensuring IoT customer solutions that fit our customers' needs. In this role, you will have accountability to design successful solutions based on Vodafone's in-house IoT platform using cellular connectivity, and a global service support model, from standard configurations to complex and bespoke solution designs.
Your main responsibilities include:
Team Management: Lead and manage the performance of the global team, aligning their efforts with operational and strategic goals. Drive Solution Sales Engineering to maximize ROI concerning sales targets, timelines, and annual operating plan commitments.
Presales Support: Provide support to opportunities globally during the presales/sales phase. Manage team assignments, expertise, and skill sets for technical qualification and solution design.
Customer Requirement Capture: Take accountability for understanding and capturing customer requirements, ensuring that IoT solutions offered align with these needs, whether as part of RFP responses or direct offers.
Interdepartmental Collaboration: Collaborate with Product and Technology teams to align customer requirements with future roadmap developments, ensuring a cohesive approach to solution design.
Technical Support: Offer technical support to engineering and operational teams during the onboarding of customer solutions, ensuring smooth integration into the customer's environment.
Specialized IoT Advisory: Provide specialized IoT advice to customers, recommending optimal solution designs, and enhancements to existing setups, and highlighting the differentiation of Vodafone solutions from competitors.
Team Leadership: Foster a culture of excellence within the team, promoting a can-do attitude and maintaining work quality to the highest standards.
Thought Leadership: Represent Vodafone in both public forums and client workshops as a thought leader on IoT solutions and customer experience, showcasing expertise and insights in the field.

It would be nice if you have...
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, and ability to translate complex issues into simple cause/effect and action requests
- Previous management experience of a pre-sales or technical team. Ability to demonstrate strong leadership skills
- Technical knowhow in IoT connectivity services, mobile networking (3GPP), and IT networking
- Good understanding of the broader global and regional IoT market environment
- Strong decision-making skills – ability to balance conflicting interests
