Responsibilities

  • Review to the implementation and impact of the Consumer Duty across a broad range of sub-sectors to include, banking, asset and wealth management, insurance etc
  • Risk assessment to identify and assess areas of elevated conduct risk, keeping in view the specific business lines and products offered by the institution;
  • Design or review of firm's conduct-related policies and procedures;
  • Interpretation of regulations and their impact on strategy, revenue streams, distribution models & wider business issues
  • Due diligence of retail conduct risk to support buyout transactions
  • Benchmarking best practice and regulatory implementation

Purpose of the Director role:

Within our growing and highly regarded FSI team, an opportunity exists for a Risk & Regulatory specialist at the Director level. Against a backdrop of unprecedented growth we are looking to hire someone with a successful track record of the following (non-exhaustive) retail conduct risk topics: Consumer Duty, product governance, treating customers fairly, vulnerable customers, disclosures and transparency, and affordability and creditworthiness; along with an entrepreneurial approach to business development and networks across the financial services community.

Supported by the European FSI teams, you will help build the profile and reputation of A&M in the identification of Risk & Regulatory initiatives within Financial Services. You will reflect the operational distinctiveness that is A&M; a business savvy, solution-focused business entrepreneur who is determined to make a difference and not afraid to challenge the status-quo.

Key responsibilities:

You will be at the heart of delivering retail conduct risk related advice and solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge and demonstrable experience in tackling retail conduct related topics.

Our clients range from private equity firms to significantly important banks and global regulatory authorities. The Director will be expected to take ownership of retail conduct related projects and contribute to the development of the Risk & Regulatory team. They will reflect the operational distinctiveness ways of A&M; and be a business savvy, solution-focused trusted advisor to the client who is not afraid to challenge the status-quo.

Examples of client-related activities include:

  • Review to the implementation and impact of the Consumer Duty across a broad range of sub-sectors to include, banking, asset and wealth management, insurance etc

Requirements

  • Experience of the Financial Services sector, particularly in relation to UK regulatory expectations in conduct and other relevant areas. This experience may have been gained in a compliance team, a Consultancy / Big 4 Advisory firm or a Regulatory body
  • Strong academic background and professional qualifications
  • A strong consulting toolkit including how to frame a business issue, judiciously find and use internal and external data to test hypotheses and draw conclusions, business model using Excel, structure and write PowerPoint and Word presentations and reports
  • Additional European languages are desirable
