- Company Description. Prime Engineering LTD is a small engineering company based in Attercliffe, Sheffield that's been operating for over 40 years. We basically Role Description. The post will require the machinist to operate various Herbert lathes from 9c's up to 14-36's. Operations required are basically turning, drilling and trepanning, experience in these types of machining is preferable. Hours are 6am - 4pm Mon-Thurs and 6am - 2pm Fri although shorter shifts are allowed if preferred. The applicant must be able to do the following procedures. - Read and interpret engineering drawings, and specifications to determine machining operations. - Select and install appropriate tooling, fixtures, and attachments for each job. - Load and and unload materials into the machine with a crane. - Monitor machine operations to ensure quality and accuracy of parts produced. - Make adjustments to machine settings as necessary to maintain proper dimensions and tolerances. - Inspect finished parts using measuring instruments to ensure compliance with specifications. - Perform routine maintenance on machines, such as cleaning and lubricating, to ensure optimal performance.
