Global Risk is a thriving and expert risk management function supporting HSBC globally with all aspects of risk management. The team actively manages a varied and dynamic range of risk types, including security, fraud, information security, contingency, geopolitical, operational, credit, treasury, pension, insurance, financial crime and regulatory compliance, market and reputation risks. We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of Head of Financial Risk Steward Oversight and Assurance, HSBC UK Bank.
Role Purpose
Financial risk covers the people, process and systems failures that would lead to a Credit, Treasury and Traded risk impact or loss. The role would be a second line of defence role, supporting the HSBC UK CRO to discharge their SMR accountabilities for the oversight and management of these risks. The role would therefore be a formal SMR delegate for the UK CRO.
The role purpose is to coordinate the Risk Stewardship oversight and related assurance activities for the UK ring-fenced bank across all of these risk types, ensuring that the UK has comprehensive coverage for all financial risk types and to provide the UK CRO with a holistic view of that stewardship and assurance activity and results. The stewardship and assurance models are being established by each financial risk function, and the role holder will therefore need to work within each operating model to ensure adequate coverage for the UK ring-fenced bank.
