  • Using Microsoft Office applications to author high-quality and accurate Nuclear Build Procedures in support of nuclear reactor manufacture and build
  • Reviewing and interpreting complex engineering drawings, engineering codes and standards and nuclear safety etc. requirements and reflecting these in Nuclear Build Procedures
  • Building and fostering effective relationships with key stakeholders to benefit two-way collaboration and cooperation in meeting individual and joint goals
  • Leading/partnering in problem solving of procedure and other documentation related issues, and provide technical expertise to customers, suppliers and stakeholders for product/procedures you are proficient with
  • Reviewing own and others work and providing meaningful feedback to support adherence to governing processes
  • Facilitate and host procedure ‘walk through' workshops with key stakeholders to incorporate learning from experience; procedure sequence/methodology changes in line with build strategy changes. This will require onsite visits and/or witnessing of procedures in use to gather information, photos etc.
  • Providing expertise and support during key nuclear build events (this may entail working outside of core working hours on an infrequent short-term basis)

    Your skills and experiences:

    Essential:

    • Demonstrable experience of producing technical documents within one of the following environments: nuclear/defence/manufacturing/engineering/construction
    • Strong working knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office packages, particularly Word
    • A Levels and/or HNC in Maths/Science/Engineering or equivalent qualification or experience within relevant engineering discipline
    • Strong analytical skills and experience

    Desirable:

    • Experience of report writing and/or procedural writing and experience of working in a nuclear regulated industry
    • Understanding of the concept of document control; importance of configuration and version control
    • Mechanical/Electrical/Commissioning background experience (preferable time served person)

    The Nuclear Authoring Team:

    The Nuclear Authoring Team is always striving to develop its ways of working, and as such, this role will also include the opportunity to work on improvement projects covering all aspects of how the team and wider nuclear organisation operates. This is a Nuclear Baseline Role and therefore will require you to complete requisite mandatory training. Additional to this specific and general training, tailored development will be provided depending on skills and experience.

    This role will provide you with exposure to a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, as well as specific nuclear training, development and qualifications depending on career aspirations.
