  • The successful candidate will take a lead role in supporting the delivery and management of client engagements, working closely with more senior members of the Markets Assurance team and effectively leading a small team of juniors on each project.
  • You will understand our clients' industry and the issues they face whether as a new entrant to the market, an acquirer of a competitor or as an insurer looking to wind down its business, and provide them with relevant advice. The combination of your specialist and core assurance skills, industry expertise and on-going investment in this area will allow you to anticipate complex business problems for our clients and recommend appropriate action.
  • Part of a team to provide professional services across the insurance lifecycle described above.
  • Writing content as part of client high quality deliverables including written reports, working papers, and summary excel analyses.
  • Responsible for day-to-day delivery of project objectives, including the management of junior staff, direct interaction with clients, and regular reporting to senior internal and client stakeholders.
  • Driving Project Management, including budgeting, reporting and risk management
  • Liaising with relevant stakeholders across Deloitte to provide our clients with best in class expertise and offerings
  • Managing your own time to work on multiple engagements and/or business development activities

    We are looking for an Assistant Manager to join the Markets Assurance Insurance team in London to support the regulatory and strategy work we do with firms across the industry, including FTSE 100 insurers, insurance intermediaries, and Lloyd's and London Market insurers.

    Your responsibilities:

    You will be quick in developing an advanced understanding of your clients' business needs and key risks and you will be responsible for creating and maintaining strong client relationships, ensuring that we are adding value to clients' businesses and that the relationships we create outlast the individual projects.

    The projects we work on from client to client can vary a lot and therefore you need to be prepared to adapt quickly to new situations and enjoy variety. Often, we are part of cross-service line teams delivering our expertise on large scale engagements which will give you the opportunity to also build a strong internal network.

    Another key aspect to the role is practice management, including preparing budgets, resourcing and client billing, and proactively engaging with the wider activities of the team.

    You will be responsible for supporting the training and development of junior members of the team and your role will be key in helping to continue to develop a diverse team with an inclusive culture where people are recognised for their contribution.

    To qualify for the role you must have:

    • A background in Insurance which could be from a regulatory, strategy or project role in industry, experience from another professional services firm or from the PRA or FCA
    • Strong understanding of insurance firms' businesses, structures, and strategies, ideally across more than one area e.g. brokers, retail insurers, Lloyd's syndicates, InsurTech
    • Working knowledge of or an interest in UK regulatory requirements and an emerging regulation
    • The ability to generate ideas and use flexible thinking to problem solve
    • Experience of working on multiple projects or engagements at any one time
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills – both written and verbal
    • Experience in delivering presentations and pitches
    • Experience in conducting stakeholder interviews
    • Strong organisational and planning skills
    • Strong aptitude with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
    • Confident client presence and ability to build contacts and develop relationships
    • Ability to develop effective working relationships internally and with clients
    • Strong team leaderships skills and proven ability to lead challenging projects and large team
    • Positive and ambitious attitude, and ability to work on own initiative
    • Educated to degree level or equivalent required
