This is a key leadership role in the Strategy part of the function, responsible for developing BT's overall long-term Business strategy.

    You will be key to shaping the future of BT Business. This role stands at the intersection of customer needs, technology, partnerships & innovation. As the Senior Manager for Strategy Development, you will be pivotal in navigating the ever-evolving telecommunications and ICT landscape, to help steer BT Business towards a successful long-term future.

    As a people leader to a team of 7, your success & impact will be defined by how you coach, develop and leverage your team. Your strategies will shape major initiatives, investments, and transformations critical to BT Business's future success.

    We are looking for someone who can reimagine what's possible and knows how to develop executable strategies that delivers real change and customer and commercial value for the business. Your insights, analyses, and foresight will be instrumental in sustaining our legacy of excellence and charting new territories for growth and impact. You won't be just setting the direction; you'll be showing us the path for a brighter, more connected tomorrow.

    You'll be joining a newly formed team to define strategy that propels BT forward. You will work closely with our senior leaders to help unleash our full potential. With a strong market, competitor and other external focus, knowledge, and insight, you partner with colleagues across our Business, Digital and Network functions. You ensure that the strategy is built collaboratively with stakeholders and communicated to enable them to understand the direction of Business and support the delivery of the strategy.

    What you'll be doing

    Experience Required

    • Strategic thinking - Demonstrable ability in identifying growth opportunities and developing actionable strategies with measurable business impact.
    • Critical thinking - Proficient in analysing complex data, trends, and market insights to inform product strategy decisions.
    • Stakeholder Management: Strong skills in engaging and influencing stakeholders at all levels, dealing with conflict and fostering collaborative decision-making.
    • Business and Commercial Acumen: Good understanding of business and commercial dynamics in the telco sector. Understands drivers of organisational performance, including people drivers of performance and financial literacy (e.g., business KPIs, business plans).
    • Executive-Level Communication - Expertise in creating and delivering presentations that effectively communicate complex strategies to executive audiences, with a focus on clarity and impact.
    • Collaboration - Working effectively across teams and departments to achieve common goals.
    • Growth mindset: Sees opportunities to innovate, transform, and define new directions. Passionate about driving change.
    • Technical acumen: Good knowledge of current technologies and trends in the telecommunications industry like 5G or Cloud, with an ability to leverage this in strategy development.
