  • As a Graduate you will be undertaking work in a variety of specialist teams within the Product Safety department, whilst contributing to the development of a safe submarine design and the production of a Whole Boat Safety Case. This activity spans the complete Submarines lifecycle, from concept design through to de-commissioning.

  • Production of Safety documentation, as delegated by line management, in accordance with relevant project and programme plans, under direct supervision;
  • Assist line management in undertaking project analysis to help plan work efficiently, provide project status and identify risks and mitigation features;
  • Under direct supervision, provide advice and information to departments, organisations and/or stakeholders on issues related to the Safety Justification;
  • Assist line management with the maintenance and continuous improvement of the Safety & Environment Management System, including production and maintenance of Process Instructions;
  • Assist with Peer Review of Safety Case documentation in accordance with departmental Process Instructions and contribute to Stakeholder Review of relevant documentation as required or delegated by line management, including review of Safety case evidence;
  • To contribute under direct supervision to identification and closure of issues emerging from all product lifecycle stages and to assist managing the resulting change embodiment activities from a safety objective.

    BAE Systems do offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements, however it is expected on our Graduate Programme you will be required to attend your site 3-4 days per week.     As a minimum requirement you'll need to have obtained, or be predicted to obtain, a 2.2 in your Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, a Safety Related Degree – e.g. Safety Critical Systems Engineering, Fire Safety and Risk Management, Physics, Maths
