    Job description

JOB TITLE: Strategic Planning Senior Analyst

    LOCATION: Edinburgh Port Hamilton Office

    HOURS: Full Time

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites.

    About this opportunity

Are you passionate about making a difference whilst keeping the customer at the heart of everything you do? Then there's a role here for you!

We're looking for a Senior Analyst to join our Strategic Planning team in Insurance, Pensions & Investments (IP&I) to support planning our operational, customer facing teams. You'll have good numeracy skills, be proactive, possess excellent accuracy and decision-making skills and be able to handle multiple deliverables whilst managing/meeting expectations.

This role is based in our Workforce Planning team which plays an important role in supporting the delivery of the Group's purpose by ensuring the operational, customer facing teams have the right people, in the right place, at the right time, to deliver the best possible customer experience.

Our purpose is to influence efficient and effective customer experience through trusted judgement, analysis, and insight. Building relationships with internal customers and colleagues (operational leadership / finance / data and commercial teams) is key to our success along with the ability to ensure data driven forecasts and insights are accurate, clear, and appropriate.

    What you'll need

You'll have a strong numeracy skill, be adaptable to change and have a desire to succeed in a new challenge. Good interpersonal, collaboration, organisational and communication skills are crucial along with the ability and drive to influence advocacy, confidence, and trust from our customers.

    • You'll identify trends and analyse data to provide recommendations (including both commercial and operational data)
    • Completing ‘what if' assessments to understand the impact of changing requirements upon the customer facing teams
    • Understanding movements in operational FTE, joiner/movers/leavers, and the impact this has on cost, budget and service
    • Simplify and translate sophisticated thoughts to engage a senior audience, both through written and verbal/face to face presentation
    • Leading meetings with various levels and groups of colleagues up to Head of Function level

And any experience of these would be really useful

    • Excellent Excel, Power BI, Power Query and PowerPoint skills (desired)
    • Knowledge of statistics & analytics and workforce planning
    • Analytical curiosity (interpret data and provide recommendations)
    • Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills

We want our people to feel that they belong and can be their best, regardless of background, identity, or culture.

If you'd like reasonable adjustments to be made to the recruitment process, just let us know.

If you're excited by the thought of becoming part of our team, get in touch. We'd love to hear from you!
