    Role : Sustainability Manager

    Job Purpose

    As part of the Global Tax team, this role is required to drive and manage implementation of new Environmental and Sustainability measures across GSK, from initial identification (“horizon-scanning”), including mediation/lobbying if appropriate, all the way through to embedding necessary processes and compliance measures into the appropriate teams in the relevant business.

    Key Responsibilities

    This role will provide YOU with the opportunity to lead key activities to progress YOUR career, these responsibilities include some of the following:

    Strategic/coordination

    • Establish and agree RACI for ongoing responsibility of current measures and future developments,
    • Keeping TLT and wider business key stakeholders updated of ongoing developments and status of projects,
    • Liaise with Corporate Government Affairs (CGA) and other teams where needed to manage any lobbying/responses to consultations that are necessary,
    • Engaging with peers to discuss industry and wider challenges of complying with measures in this space,
    • Meeting regularly with the Sustainability and ESG teams to ensure Tax concerns are represented,
    • Input into ongoing measure scanning for future developments, including collating and maintaining a regular cross-disciplinary group to discuss these measures.

    Implementation/projects

    • Leading the implementation of new measures, from initial identification through to embedding of processes into the relevant business across GSK,
    • Driving continuous improvement activities, such as data analysis and reporting,
    • Coordinating Tax inputs into ongoing tech project regarding a holistic data solution for these measures.

    Compliance

    • Oversee the ongoing compliance relating to new and existing measures, including coordinating the gathering of reports and pulling data needed (in collaboration with consultants where necessary, working in conjunction with Tax Services).

    Why you?

    We are looking for professionals with the following skills to help us achieve our goals:

    Basic Qualification:

    • Minimum BSc/BA/equivalent in Trade Compliance, Logistics, Taxation, Sustainability or related discipline.
    • Experience in successful delivery of similar sustainability projects with large businesses across multi-disciplinary teams

    Preferred experience:

    • Maintain a high level of integrity while balancing multiple priorities and responsibilities,
    • Experience working in driving projects that have broad stakeholder engagement across a number of disciplines in large corporations,
    • Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing with all levels both internal and external to GSK,
    • Sense of urgency, flexibility, and accountability,
    • Attention to detail,
    • Must be a committed team player prepared to work in and embrace a team-based culture,
    • Provide expertise necessary to train site personnel,
    • Open to work in international environment that may require some travel within North America and Europe per business need.
