    Salary: £54,793.00 – £60,326.00

    Your skills and experiences:

    Essential:

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Confidence in presenting information to a wide variety of stakeholders
    • Must be capable of progressing a number of concurrent tasks and reporting on these

    Desirable:

    • People Management
    • Military Air domain knowledge and/or experience
    • Experience of Typhoon Clearance Process

    The Human Factors, Qualification, and Safety team:

    Working as the Cockpit System Technical Manager within the Human Factors, Qualification, and Safety team offers a dynamic and critical role at the intersection of aviation technology and pilot usability. Collaborating closely with cockpit crew and engineers, this role involves managing the design, testing, and qualification of Human-Machine Interface (HMI) designs for the Typhoon Cockpit. The focus is on ensuring that the cockpit designs meet rigorous safety standards and are optimized for pilot usability, encompassing essential features such as sensor capabilities, navigation aids, communications systems, and weapons targeting interfaces. This position involves extensive engagement with fast jet aircrew, conducting cockpit assessments, and utilizing mission simulators to refine and perfect cockpit designs that directly impact in-flight operations. The work is demanding yet rewarding, contributing significantly to enhancing the safety and effectiveness of advanced combat aircraft systems.
