Responsibilities

  • Developing, deploying and continuously improving a suite of asset lifecycle management processes for Barrow Site, Facilities & Infrastructure projects; including Requirements Management, Verification and Validation
  • Ensuring asset lifecycle management processes are aligned to and comply with recognised industry good practice and appropriate national and international standards, including ISO 15288 for Systems Engineering and the BSRIA Soft Landings Framework
  • Providing technical leadership, coaching, training and ad hoc support to Project Managers, Project Engineering Managers, and other end-user stakeholders on the implementation of the asset lifecycle management processes
  • Maintaining understanding of industry best practice and ongoing developments in Systems Engineering and Soft Landings and how these approaches can be tailored and applied by BAE Systems Site Engineering
  • Managing integration of multi-discipline engineering and other technical and non-technical teams who interface with the Asset Management System from across multiple projects and programmes

    Salary: £56,000+ depending on skills and experience

    What you'll be doing:

    • Developing, deploying and continuously improving a suite of asset lifecycle management processes for Barrow Site, Facilities & Infrastructure projects; including Requirements Management, Verification and Validation
    • Ensuring asset lifecycle management processes are aligned to and comply with recognised industry good practice and appropriate national and international standards, including ISO 15288 for Systems Engineering and the BSRIA Soft Landings Framework

    Your skills and experiences:

    Essential:

    • Comprehensive knowledge of established Systems Engineering and Soft-Landings processes/approaches to large scale infrastructure development; specifically in relation to Requirements Management and Handover/Acceptance
    • Broad knowledge of capability development and management approaches and techniques
    • Broad knowledge of design, engineering, maintenance, commissioning, operational, and asset management processes
    • Bachelor's degree in STEM subject or a degree qualified in a relevant engineering discipline (or equivalent experience)

    Desirable:

    • Broad knowledge of systematic approach to training principles
    • Broad knowledge of Nuclear and Radiological engineering and regulatory requirements
    • BSRIA Soft Landings Level 1
    • Associate Systems Engineering Professional (ASEP)
    • Membership of a relevant professional engineering body (e.g. Chartered Engineer)

    The Asset Management team:

    The Asset Management team is the central hub for Asset Management Capability and Services for the BAE Systems Barrow Site and, ultimately, exists to enable optimised decision-making across the whole asset lifecycle; from acquire to retire. This newly created role has a focus on the processes required to support the ‘acquire' stage of the asset lifecycle – to ensure new assets are appropriately specified, delivered and received into the business. With significant ongoing investment in new capabilities for the BAE Systems Barrow site, this is an exciting time to join and help us make it a success.
