Enterprise Technology is the Technology organisation responsible for the design, build and ongoing maintenance of the systems owned by the Group Functions (Risk, Compliance, Finance, Core Banking, Corporate Functions and Deputy COO). The organisation consists of over 8,000 people working in collaboration across 14 countries, to support over 3,000 applications

Role Description:

Risk & Compliance IT delivers cutting-edge technology to protect the Bank and its customers from Financial Crime and to meet our various regulatory commitments.

Our applications/services cover Anti-Money Laundering, Sanctions & PEP Screening, Anti-Bribery and Corruption, Regulatory and Tax Reporting, Customer Due Diligence/KYC (Know your Client) and Risk Management.

We operate in a 100% Agile environment and deliver change rapidly but with built-in quality and control – driving adoption of the latest technologies such as machine learning & AI, while ensuring that our databases, applications, and environments are operating at the level of performance and reliability demanded by HSBC's 40 million customers.

The role holder will lead the Screening, Analytics & MI function and act a strong partner to cross functional business teams across HSBC delivering evolutionary and transformation change and technology service assurance, working with regional and global business / technology leads to provide optimised global services adjusted to address regional requirements where appropriate.

Responsibilities:

Requirements

Essential Skillset/Experience:

· An experience technology leader with a track record of on time delivery and innovation.

· Experience of implementing and owning SaaS/Cloud solutions and Hadoop based systems.

· Knowledge of banking and financial crime desirable.

· Ability to manage and innovate in a global setting across a matrixed estate.

· Experience of architecture practices and defining a multi-year vision and driving investment cases for change.

· Vendor management expertise including in an outsourced model.

· Strong data and integration experience and an understanding of APIs.

· Technology transformation experience of global deployments in a banking environment and expert level program management skills.

· Track record of DevOps and Agile adoption and optimisation.

· Strong financial acumen, budgeting and forecasting and ability to operate strategically on commercial matters.

· People leadership experience of large teams (300+ employees).

The role will be based in London but some travel may be required. This role supports Hybrid working.
